Ubisoft and Laced Records have renewed their adherence to the brotherhood to bring themusic of Assassins Creed Shadows to vinyl.Assassins Creed Shadows transports players to the rich setting of feudal Japan, anchored by a soundtrack that fuses traditional instrumentation with playful modern techniques. Montreal-based band TEKE::TEKE were commissioned to give the games swift and stealthy protagonist Naoe her impactful needle drop story moments. The groups surf and psych rock influences were a natural fit for the games direction, with the developers imagining a Tarantino soundtrack when sourcing music for Shadows. In a twist, the band were tasked with interpreting Jesper Kyds iconic series theme, Ezios Family a fan favourite normally adapted as part of the score music. The TEKE::TEKE members Japanese heritage connected them deeply to the games setting. Fittingly, through their research and absorption in the project, the band tapped intoshinobi-do, the philosophy of the shinobi that remains central to the game.
