Released in January 1981, Paradise Theater is Styxs ambitious concept album chronicling the rise and fall of a fictional Chicago venue as a metaphor for American decline. Blending arena rock hooks with theatrical flourishes, the album features standout tracks like Too Much Time on My Hands and The Best of Times.

Produced by Styx and engineered by Gary Loizzo, the Canadian pressing includes bilingual label text and a richly illustrated gatefold cover depicting the Paradise Theaters faded grandeur. The album topped charts and became one of Styxs most commercially successful releases.
