Northside played a huge part in Manchesters early nineties soundtrack. Signed to Factory, the band were said to be the bridge between the Stone Roses and the Happy Mondays, and made their mark in the blooming baggy scene. Northsides career sprung to life with the release of their first single Shall We Take A Trip. The bands 1991 third single, Take 5 reached the top five in the Billboard alternative songs chart and it also saw them appear on Top of the Pops that June. Produced by The Lightning Seeds Ian Broudie (Echo & The Bunnymen, Shack, The Coral, Texas), their album released in 1991 and peaked at number 19 in the charts.
