“War Child” is the seventh studio album by Jethro Tull, released in October 1974.
The original front cover is a composite photograph featuring a positive color print of Melbourne, Australia at night, and a negative print of a studio photo of lead singer Ian Anderson. Some rare reissues (likethis one) have a different cover sleeve with a “positive” print of Ian Anderson, and no picture in the background.

Despite the seemingly disconnected themes of the songs, the album was originally planned as a movie soundtrack. But the film project was abandonned after failed attempts to find a major movie studio to finance it, and the planned double-album set was reinstated as a ten-song, single-length rock album.
