Here’s a pressing that doesn’t surface too often, and when it does, serious Mott the Hoople and Ian Hunter collectors take notice. “Welcome To The Club” captures Hunter during a pivotal moment in 1980, just as he was hitting his stride as a solo artist while still carrying the rebellious spirit that made Mott legendary. This live recording showcases Hunter’s theatrical stage presence and his ability to breathe new life into both his solo material and select Mott classics, backed by a tight band that understood the glam-rock blueprint. The Canadian Chrysalis pressing is particularly sought after by collectors who know that the pressing plants up north often delivered superior sound quality during this era, with better vinyl formulation and quality control than many of their international counterparts.
