Here’s a pressing that doesn’t surface in the bins very often Dan Hill’s self-titled 1987 release on Canadian Columbia. While most folks remember Hill primarily for his massive 1977 hit “Sometimes When We Touch,” this later album represents a fascinating chapter in the Toronto singer-songwriter’s evolution. By ’87, Hill had weathered the transition from folk troubadour to mainstream pop balladeer, and this record captures him working within the slick production aesthetics of the mid-80s while trying to reclaim some of his earlier introspective songwriting edge.
