Here’s a Canadian first pressing of Bruce Cockburn’s politically charged 1983 masterpiece “The Trouble With Normal” on True North Records. This album marked a significant shift for Cockburn, moving from his earlier folk mysticism into more direct social commentary, largely inspired by his travels through Central America and witnessing the effects of U.S.-backed conflicts firsthand. The title track became one of his most enduring songs, with its prescient observation that “the trouble with normal is it always gets worse” resonating just as strongly today as it did during the Reagan era.
