Here’s a Canadian RSO pressing of the Bee Gees’ “Spirits Having Flown” from 1979, representing the brothers at their absolute commercial peak. This album followed directly on the heels of their Saturday Night Fever soundtrack dominance and proved they could sustain that momentum on their own terms. The record spawned three consecutive number-one hits – “Tragedy,” “Too Much Heaven,” and “Love You Inside Out” – making it one of the most successful albums of the disco era. What’s particularly fascinating is how Barry’s falsetto, which had become their signature sound, reaches new heights of sophistication here, while the production work showcases the lush, orchestrated disco arrangements that defined the late ’70s.
