Aaaron continues his journey through mystic synthesis with his fifth EP for Connected, Cosmic Soul EP. On “Cosmic Soul”, a rhythm section playing robotic funk against an esoteric drone meets a melancholic piano refrain and pleading vocal monotones that go dubwise. Synthetic textures reminiscent of Blade Runner 2049 form a backdrop for a skeletal drum figure on “Mercy”, as soft Kraftwerk-like notes filter in-and-out. Imagine a classical symphony based on two or three chords, revolving and hypnotizing, set against a drumscape of toms and unnaturally pitched and distorted snares. You’ve got “It’s Not Over”.
