His best-known composition, the ballad “Misty”, has become ajazz standard.Scott YanowofAllmusiccalls him “one of the most distinctive of all pianists” and a “brilliant virtuoso.”He received a star on theHollywood Walk of Fameat 6363 Hollywood Blvd.
